By accessing the Site or placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to make purchases on this Site. By placing an order, you represent that you meet this requirement and that all information you provide is accurate and complete.
2. Products and Descriptions
- All products sold are handcrafted candles, wax melts, and related home fragrance goods.
- We make every effort to display product colors, sizes, and descriptions accurately. Due to the handmade nature of our candles, slight variations in color, texture, and scent throw are normal and not considered defects.
- Product images are representative. Monitor settings may affect how colors appear.
- We reserve the right to discontinue any product at any time without notice.
3. Pricing and Availability
- All prices are listed in US Dollars (USD) and do not include applicable sales tax or shipping unless stated otherwise.
- Pennsylvania sales tax is collected on orders shipped to PA addresses as required by law.
- Prices are subject to change without notice. The price at the time of order placement applies to your purchase.
- We reserve the right to limit quantities, refuse orders, or cancel orders due to pricing errors, suspected fraud, or inventory issues. In such cases, you will receive a full refund.
4. Orders and Payment
- By placing an order, you make an offer to purchase. We accept your offer when we send an order confirmation email.
- Payment is processed securely through Stripe. We accept major credit/debit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.
- You represent that you are authorized to use the payment method provided.
- Orders are not confirmed until payment is successfully processed.
- Gift cards and store credit may be applied at checkout. Gift cards cannot be redeemed for cash.
5. Shipping and Delivery
- We currently ship within the United States via USPS and UPS.
- Orders over $50 qualify for free standard shipping.
- We aim to ship orders within 3–5 business days. During peak seasons or promotional periods, processing may take longer.
- Shipping times are estimates provided by carriers and are not guaranteed. We are not responsible for carrier delays, weather events, or other circumstances beyond our control.
- In accordance with the FTC Mail Order Rule (16 CFR Part 435), if we cannot ship within the stated timeframe, we will notify you and offer the option to cancel for a full refund.
- Risk of loss and title transfer to you upon delivery of the package to the carrier.
- It is your responsibility to provide an accurate shipping address. We are not responsible for packages delivered to incorrect addresses provided by the customer.
6. Returns, Exchanges, and Refunds
- We accept returns within 30 days of delivery for unused, unopened candles in their original packaging.
- To initiate a return, contact us at orders@justinjarcandles.com with your order number and reason for return.
- Damaged or defective items must be reported within 48 hours of delivery with photographic evidence. We will replace the item or issue a full refund at our discretion.
- Refunds are processed to the original payment method within 5–10 business days of receiving the returned item.
- Return shipping costs are the customer's responsibility unless the item is defective or we made a fulfillment error.
- The following items are non-refundable: gift cards, items marked as final sale, and subscription shipments (unless defective).
- We reserve the right to refuse returns that do not meet these conditions.
7. Subscriptions (Candle Club)
- Candle Club subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or quarterly) through Stripe.
- By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on each billing date until you cancel.
- You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account page or by contacting us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — no partial refunds are issued for the current cycle.
- We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with 30 days' advance notice. Continued subscription after the notice period constitutes acceptance of the new price.
- Candle selections are curated by us and may vary each cycle. Specific scent requests are not guaranteed.
8. Gift Cards
- Gift cards are delivered electronically via email and do not expire.
- Gift cards are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash (except where required by law).
- We are not responsible for lost, stolen, or unauthorized use of gift card codes. Treat them like cash.
- Gift cards may not be resold or transferred for value.
9. Accounts and Security
- You may create an account using email/password or Google sign-in.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.
- Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or are created by automated means (bots).
10. Candle Safety and Assumption of Risk
Candles involve an open flame and inherent fire risk. By purchasing candles from us, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
- You will read and follow all safety instructions included with your candle (printed on the label and/or included insert).
- Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep away from children, pets, flammable materials, and drafts.
- Burn candles on a stable, heat-resistant surface. Do not burn for more than 4 hours at a time.
- Trim the wick to ¼ inch before each use.
- Discontinue use when ½ inch of wax remains.
- We are not liable for injury, property damage, or loss resulting from failure to follow safety instructions or misuse of our products.
- Our candles comply with ASTM F2417 (Standard Specification for Fire Safety for Candles) and contain no lead-core wicks per 16 CFR § 1500.17(a)(13).
11. Intellectual Property
- All content on this Site — including text, images, logos, product names, designs, and software — is the property of JUSTINJARCANDLES and is protected by US copyright and trademark law.
- You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from our content without prior written permission.
- Limited license: We grant you a personal, non-commercial, revocable license to access and use the Site for shopping purposes.
12. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the Site for any unlawful purpose
- Submit false or misleading information
- Create accounts using automated means (bots, scripts, or scrapers)
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
- Interfere with the proper functioning of the Site
- Resell our products without authorization
13. Disclaimer of Warranties

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, JUSTINJARCANDLES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SITE OR PURCHASE OF PRODUCTS, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL.
OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE SITE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SPECIFIC PRODUCT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR $100, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
These limitations apply regardless of the theory of liability (contract, tort, strict liability, or otherwise) and even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
15. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless JUSTINJARCANDLES and its owners, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your violation of these Terms, misuse of our products, or infringement of any third-party rights.
16. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Site shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.
17. Dispute Resolution
Before filing any formal legal action, you agree to contact us at orders@justinjarcandles.com to attempt to resolve the dispute informally. We will make good-faith efforts to resolve any issue within 30 days. If informal resolution fails, either party may pursue legal remedies in accordance with Section 16.
18. Force Majeure
We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, pandemics, government actions, supply chain disruptions, carrier delays, power outages, or internet service interruptions.
19. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable.
20. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any other policies referenced herein, constitute the entire agreement between you and JUSTINJARCANDLES regarding your use of the Site and purchase of products. These Terms supersede any prior agreements or communications.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you must stop using the Site.
